The Rise of the Beast

|| What Grows in Yer Garden ||

The tale of the "WOLFGANG" started about 7 years back, when Leslie "Wolf" Gemora met Manuel Legarda at Kalye, a Makati rock club. Mutual friends Razorback holds turf at Kalye and it is drummer Miguel Ortigas who introduced the duo to Sebastian "Basti" Artadi. All three had played with bands before. They had a common craving for 70's rock.....Cream, Led Zep, Sabbath. Around these they formed a bond. After finding a bassist Wolfpack, a name coined by David Aguirre, were alternating with Razorback as resident rockers. Wolfpack soon became Wolfgang, a title that represents the bands fascination with the dark side. Afterwhich, the pack, moved on to Weekends Live at the Atrium while continually changing bass player. When the place closed down Wolfgang sort of drifted around until they found Mon Legaspi, whose approach and personality is much like that of the band. The foursome took it a level higher. Doing cover versions of Come Together...and War Pigs(which I don't get to hear anymore)...and packing the underground clubs of Makati, Manila, and Quezon City. Soon they were doing their own songs and tearing the alternative rock charts apart....to become the band that they are today.

Though having supposedly elitist roots...La Salle tisoys from Alabang, Wolfgang has a wide fan base. Their followers not only come from the A & B class but also include almost anyone else....they've algo got mass appeal....from the grunge-teeny, to the yuppies trying to be in...to the crowd who hang out in kantos and those who frequent Mayric's(the best, IMHO). They take to the stage wearing the same shirts, jeans, sneakers and skate board shorts they wear off the stage. They just plain and simple, rock your ballz off...even if ya don't have one....!right Jevlogz?!?
